- I have a problem with my no-brand internal 28k8 modem, that only occurs
- under Windows 95 (under Wfw311 or DOS the modem works fine).
- When try to use dialup-networking the modem dials, connects and then
- seems to stop communicating properly. When I step through the script,
- I notice that it stops in most cases waiting for the username prompt and
- occasionally a little later, when it is waiting for the password prompt.
-
- Another strange thing is that If I set dial-up networking to display a
- terminal window before and after dialing, I cannot type any modem
- commands in those windows. In hyper-terminal it is also impossible to
- type modem commands or to build up a working connection, unless I perform
- the following trick :
- 1 Let hyperterminal dial a number
- 2 Cancel the dialing
- 3 Now I can type AT commands, dial manually using AT DT and obtain a
- working terminal connection.
-
- This is the only way I have found to use my modem under Windows 95.
- However, I cannot use this trick with the dial-up networking to build up
- a PPP connection with my internet service provider.
-
- Does anyone recognize these problems or have an idea of what could be
- causing them ?
- Any help (preferably by e-mail) would be greatly appreciated.
