  15. I have a problem with my no-brand internal 28k8 modem, that only occurs
  16. under Windows 95 (under Wfw311 or DOS the modem works fine).
  17. When try to use dialup-networking the modem dials, connects and then 
  18. seems to stop communicating properly. When I step through the script, 
  19. I notice that it stops in most cases waiting for the username prompt and 
  20. occasionally a little later, when it is waiting for the password prompt.

  22. Another strange thing is that If I set dial-up networking to display a 
  23. terminal window before and after dialing, I cannot type any  modem 
  24. commands in those windows. In hyper-terminal it is also impossible to 
  25. type modem commands or to build up a working connection, unless I perform 
  26. the following trick :
  27. 1 Let hyperterminal dial a number
  28. 2 Cancel the dialing
  29. 3 Now I can type AT commands, dial manually using AT DT and obtain a 
  30. working terminal connection.

  32. This is the only way I have found to use my modem under Windows 95. 
  33. However, I cannot use this trick with the dial-up networking to build up 
  34. a PPP connection with my internet service provider.

  36. Does anyone recognize these problems or have an idea of what could be 
  37. causing them ?
